In our life, we are surrounded by things that we use on a daily basis. These are common objects, disposable items or food. Eichler’s work is about these common goods. There is a lot to discover in this seemingly too well known field. All that is needed is leisure and a ‘loving eye’. Prepared this way, one spots interesting surfaces, colours, shapes and much more. The ‘loving eye’ for these small things radiates enthusiasm. And the enthusiasm is the incubator for seeing new potentials in the seemingly well known. Especially intriguing is to set these goods into a new association between us and our body. Anja Eichler is from Germany, studied jewellery in Italy and now lives and works in Berlin and Shanghai.
